Privacy notice
Last updated: August 2026
This page sets out what News MasterClass collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.
What we collect when you request a guide
If you fill in a form to receive a free guide, we store the first name and email address you enter, the page the request came from, the time, your IP address and your browser user agent. The last two are kept because they are what makes automated abuse of the form identifiable.
We ask for a first name because it is used in the emails we send. Nothing else on the form is required, and we never ask for payment details.
What we do with it
- Send you the guide you asked for.
- Send occasional emails about the programs we review. Every one of them has an unsubscribe link, and using it removes you from the list.
We do not sell your address, rent it, or pass it to the companies whose programs we review. If you register for one of those programs through a link on this site, you do that on their website and under their own privacy policy, not ours.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies and reports aggregate figures such as page views, country and device. We also record when someone clicks through to a program we review, so we can tell which reviews are useful. None of that is tied to a name or an email address.
You can opt out with a browser extension from Google, with your browser’s tracking protection, or by blocking cookies for this site.
How long we keep it
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. The technical fields collected with a form submission (IP address and user agent) are kept for twelve months and then removed.
Where it is stored
Form submissions are written to a file on our hosting at Hostinger, outside the public part of the server. Analytics data is held by Google under their own terms.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do it. Unsubscribing removes you from the list on its own, but if you want the record erased entirely, say so and we will erase it.
Requests go to the address in the footer of any email we have sent you. If you have not received one yet, use the contact route on our affiliate disclosure page.
Affiliate links
This site earns commission from some of the links it publishes. That relationship is set out in full on the affiliate disclosure page, and the links themselves are marked so search engines can see it too.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that affects what we collect or what we do with it, the date at the top changes with it.
